Hi guys, my names Will and I'm the President of the JCR for the next academic year. My job is a sabbatical role, and having graduated from John Snow College in 2017; it's now my job to create student experience and represent students of the College to Durham University. My role can be very varied at times, but I have overall responsibility for the elected JCR Committee to make sure that all our students are happy, fun and safe becoming the best versions of themselves!
Patrick Turner - Vice President
Hey guys! Welcome to the John Snow College. I'm Patrick a second year marketing and management student, and I will be performing the role of Vice President this coming year. The Vice President holds several overarching responsibilities within the Junior Common Room (JCR) involving delivery of committee targets while providing mobility of the JCR. You will personally see me across many fields within the JCR, whether that is through our JCR committee, sports teams, societies, formals, as well as all the college events. As a JCR committee we are all invested in providing an encompassed student experience for all; if you feel that you need to speak to any of us at any time, please feel free to do so.
Matt Williams - Chairman
Hey guys! Welcome to John Snow. I'm Matt, I'm a third year Psychology student and I’ll also be your Chairman for the next academic year. My role mainly revolves around governing various democratic processes, much of which you will see as the year goes on, as well as chairing the JCR committee. I also speak at formal occasions and host college council's termly, so I will always be around should you need to ask any questions about the JCR.
Heidi Winrow - Treasurer
Hey guys, my names Heidi and I’m a third year Finance student. I also have the privilege of being your JCR Treasurer for the upcoming year. As a JCR we want to make your student experience the best it can be and so my role mainly involves working closely with other members of the JCR to allow our college events, sports teams and societies to run smoothly from a financial perspective. Clíodhna Hunt - Female Welfare
Hey guys! I’m Clio, a third year Primary Education student and I will be your Female Welfare Officer for the upcoming year. Our job as welfare officers is to ensure you feel welcome at John Snow and enjoy your time at university. We are here to offer support for any issues you may encounter, no matter how big or small. Harry and I will also be carrying out a variety of welfare campaigns over the next year, with the help of our amazing WREP team, but we also want to hear from you! Harry Engall - Male Welfare
Hey everyone! My name is Harry, a second year accounting and finance student. I will be your Male Welfare Officer for next year. This role mainly involves supporting students with any problems you may have in your time here, we’re here to make sure your experience at university is the best it can be.
